Fr. Barron, you mentioned the Rev. Bishop Sheen, and I want to share that a priest recently compared you to him; that you have a gift from God to inspire, as he did.
I've been a poet for many years. and with persistance, found my "fingerprint"; something recognizable in my words which reflects uniquely back to me. When you speak of our inadequacy with words, as mere humans,I ponder once again, why I must edit and edit to become who I am within the poetry of my words. Oh, how humbling to know that in science, we all have our own fingerprint, and God, recognizes us, and becomes us, through His Word, His vulnerability, a paradox to the world, the Redeemer, the Emmanuel, the King of Kings...through that vulnerability of Love. Merry Christmas! God Speed!

Listened to this commentary again... I too think of God as a great artist, the greatest. This is where I believe we are made in His image and likeness, and that when our own creativity is stifled we become sick. Also, if we wait for inspiration, it may never come... I think most creativity, or productivity, begins with action, energy creates more energy. As with any friendship, what we DO, not so much what we say demonstrates love, i.e., the effort. His Father said DO WHAT HE SAYS, His Mother said DO WHAT HE SAYS. A while back, I was on bay where I live during an awesome sunset, and all I could do was bow my head and say "my compliments to the technical director." God is an artist in a constant state of creation, not one moment in time is the same as the one that went before. Although this life looks nothing like the brochure at times, beats the hell out of nonexistance no matter how you cut it. Merry Christmas.

God from God, Light from Light, True God from True God... these words have always been among my most favorite. When I pray them at Mass, it is often that I find myself wandering off somewhere in just these few words. I could never figure out why that happened. Father Barron, I learn so much from you and this Homily has shown me exactly what I needed to see right now. Merry Christmas ~

Fr. Barron, I had a realization the other day. The intelligibility of the universe is not the only assumption of science. If a scientist were in a research field, would he or she ever assume there is nothing more to discover? Of course not; that would be ridiculous! Even if there's no evidence, it is still logical to assume that there's more out there. Not only does science assume that being is intelligible (which would be difficult to reconcile with the absurdity of an atheistic world), it also assumes that it is incomplete (which is impossible to reconcile with the view that faith is illogical because we cannot prove the existence of a spiritual reality with a physical science).

And this sermon shows why we are not a religion of "don't" but a religion of "do". We on correct understanding of Catholicism are given a blueprint as to how we can be absorbed to the higher level of sharing in the divine. I no longer look at the commandments as don'ts but do's. And another Merry Christmas.

Father: On this Christmas Eve, I say thank you for all of your work in your honest and concerted study of scripture, and in your committed quest to continue to find and discern the truth from all of the other sources where it may be found. We see your joy in this special vocation that you are faithfully and timely carrying out of showing us that the truth of the love and goodness of God is real and inexhaustible, and that it resides in everything He has created and touched. Thank you for passing that truth on to us with the confidence, conviction and gentle authority that can come only from knowing it authentically, and with the passion that comes from it having so fully inflamed your heart and then illuminated your mind. You touch our hearts, and move us closer this day to our newborn savior.

I dont know what a URL is..... anyway, Father, your Christmas words set me on fire but I would like to have it on script to "digest" it more in my quiet time. Where can I get a printable version? May you recognize God more and more for us! Thank you Father Barron.

Father, thank you once again for your supplement to our children's homeschooling. For the third time in as many months I feel compelled to replay your video as a companion to our Morning Offering at breakfast. Last time I had the kids write an essay afterword and they really impressed my wife and me with their spiritual insights relating to Advent (they are age 12 and 11). Your voice even keeps my precocious 4 year old daughter glued to our laptop screen. Now that is something to ponder.
