"Seek first the Kingdom of God and his righteousness, and the rest will be given to you." Make God the center of your life, and you will be spiritually ordered in Christ's image. If you make wealth and security your center, you will be empty. You make the choice: will God be your center?

Thanks Fr. Barron, you have reassured me that there is nothing wrong with my hunger for spiritual knowledge, to grow in my faith, to continue to pray even when I am tired of it.

"Spiritus Contra Spiritus"; An angle I never thought in this most comforting set of readings. The Genius unfolding in my own understanding of the "Word", not Nancy Pelosi's, but the the Real "Word of God". Interpreting more like a passage from Revelation, Familiar Imagery with Truth & Consequences shows ever deeper and everywhere, everything in the "Word", Sermon on the Mount to the Book of Sirach, to our Daily Wants, Needs and Desires at its root lies our Hearts Struggle; "The Spirit of God against The Spirit of Mammon".

Trying to put God in first place is what being a Christian is all about.
We need to check with Him and His Word and even with Godly people and in prayer before making moves. This would be the Ideal.. Lord help us all to do just that. Once again Father Bob puts it all so clearly for which I am sure we are all very thankful.

As I would like to recall from the wisdom of Saint Basil the Great, "The condemnation of those who know and yet do not apply their knowledge is the more severe, but even sin committed in ignorance is not without risk.", this tells me that having known the Word of God which is to Seek Him First is where we need to focus all that we do, all that we are everyday. More often, we find ourselves cornered with the demands in order to survive in this world so that we forget that at the end of the day, He is all that matter. Let go, let God! I pray that as I become better aware thru Fr. Robert's sermon by consistently listening to him, and God's message to me, I am able to always keep in touch with God, first and foremost.
As I also would like to always remember:
"I woke up early this morning,
and pause before entering the day,
I had so much to accomplish,
that I had to take time to pray." - Alan Grant

Father Barron needs to be informed that the Trump tower in Chicago is now the second-tallest building in Chicago. Not sure what this will mean for his point but it would be interesting to hear him incorporate it! Thanks.

A very erudite and enlightening exposition of God's providence for us His children. Fr Robert expertly gets to the heart of the matter in a clear and concise manner. Keep up the good work, Fr Robert and may God Bless you for that.
